IT ALL BEGAN WITH TWO PEOPLE, ONE BLAST POT, AND A FIELD.

In 2005, Joe Wainscott and Dee Johnsen set out to build something from the ground up — quite literally. They started blasting steel with a single pot, a lot of grit, and a clear vision for what quality work should look like. There was no big shop, no office staff — just a commitment to doing the job right and doing it safely.

We’re not just chasing work — we’re building long-term partnerships. Our team of experienced professionals brings unmatched technical knowledge, a deep respect for safety, and a commitment to quality that never takes a day off. With dedicated Quality Control personnel on every shift and a management team that understands boots-on-the-ground execution, we know how to deliver on time, every time.

Our team supports general contractors, steel fabricators, erectors, engineers, and owners with services that range from fireproofing and blasting to powder coating, metallizing, tank linings, and asset protection. We work both in the shop and in the field, on projects ranging from treatment plants and industrial facilities to stadiums and airports.

At every step, we’ve kept our focus on safety, consistency, and quality — because we know those are the things that keep customers coming back and projects moving forward.

Today, Airco is proud to participate in some of the largest and most complex fabrication and coatings projects in the U.S. But we haven’t forgotten where we started — or the values that got us here.
